AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Inspector, Highway & Bridge to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroads, bridges and highways in Connecticut. This position is on site in Rocky Hill, CT. They ensure that all staff are engaged in all aspects of our projects, helping team members develop their careers while working on some of the most interesting, challenging, and complex projects in the region. Responsibilities are included but not limited to: • Responsible for performing assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. • Under minimal direction, relies on experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Construction Project Manager. • Responsible for setting own project deadlines. • Provides on the job training to new employees. • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records. • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning. • Tracks quality assurance progress. • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of related experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
