The Mine Maintenance Electrician at Horizon Mine Maintenance – Shovels, is responsible for delivering safe, efficient and quality workmanship in the technical repair of mining shovels, trucks, graders and associated equipment. • Job location: Horizon Site - Fort McMurray, Alberta • Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shift (Wednesday to Tuesday) • Safety sensitive position: Yes • Application deadline: September 17, 2026 Key Accountabilities: • Plan and provide safe and efficient work • Provide leadership and performance feedback to team members • Identify and secure resources required for planned tasks, such as parts, equipment, materials, special tools, and work procedures and work effectively with the mining team members to meet turnaround targets and minimize down time of critical parts and equipment • Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting of electrical equipment and ensure work is adequately documented in the work order system (E1) • Collaborate with the planning group to scope out routine and major jobs • Identify recurring problems and documents so that an engineered solution can be provided What You Bring to the Role: • Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with Alberta Journeyman Electrical Trade qualification or Inter-Provincial Electrical Trade Certification • Familiarity with and understanding of: • Working in the Oil and Gas industry • Electric mining shovels, Electric haul trucks, power distribution systems and PLC control systems • High Voltage switching and troubleshooting trailing cables in an open pit application • Low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment • Large, powered motors, starters and isolating equipment, as well as small and large powered VFD drives What We Offer: • Competitive salary, stock options, company matched stock savings plan, annual bonuses • 100% Employer paid extended Health, Dental and Vision Benefits • May be eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Policy • May be eligible for additional premiums • Company Sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out from Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta • First class camp facilities • Health & Wellness Spending Account • Multiple volunteer opportunities within the community • Employee & Family Assistance Program Check out our COMPENSATION & BENEFITS to learn more about what we have to offer!
