Clean Harbors in Edmonton, AB is looking for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their safety conscious team! This individual will assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy handling units including, but not limited to tractors, trailers, and loaders. Why work for Clean Harbors? • Health and Safety is our #1 priority and We Live It 3-6-5! • Competitive wages; • Monday-Thursday 6am-6pm; compressed schedule. • Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment; • Group RRSP with company matching component; • Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement; • Positive and safe work environments; • Eligible to participate in the employee company stock purchase program; • Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career. • Prioritize safety at all times by following company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices. • Complete work orders, inspection reports, and other required paperwork accurately and on time. • Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly secured before performing maintenance or repairs, including the use of wheel chocks, jack stands, and other safety devices. • Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on company vehicles, equipment, and machinery. • Conduct equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or repair requirements. • Perform routine maintenance services, including lubrication, fluid checks, and component replacements. • Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues on light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. • Install, fit, and adjust new or repaired parts to manufacturer and company standards. • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required preventive maintenance documentation. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping activities. • Work closely with licensed mechanics and supervisors to develop technical skills and support maintenance operations. • Perform other related duties as assigned. • Registered Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice; • Hands-on mechanical experience with heavy-duty equipment and vehicles; • Vacuum truck maintenance and repair experience is an asset; • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required; • Strong commitment to safety and willingness to learn; • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and contribute to a team-oriented workplace. 40-years of sustainability in action.
