Lead Hand - Mobile Equipment Mechanic Work location: Chapleau, Ontario - Borden mine – On-site Schedule: Full-time - 14/14 rotation - 12-hour shifts The Mobile Equipment Mechanic Lead Hand supports the Mechanical Supervisor in planning and assigning work. They guide the mechanics, inspect completed work and help diagnose and repair battery electric vehicles and heavy diesel equipment to minimize downtime. Main responsibilities and duties: · Assign work to team members and follow up on its progress and quality; · Provide daily guidance, answer questions and share technical knowledge with the team; · Inspect equipment, diagnose malfunctions and determine the repairs, parts and tools required; · Disassemble, repair, adjust or replace defective components, and perform routine maintenance; · Prepare work orders and coordinate parts requirements with management and procurement; · Communicate professionally with customers and respond to their needs; · Suggest improvements to work methods and keep the work area clean and organized; · Ensure the team follows health and safety procedures and wears the required personal protective equipment. Qualifications: · Vocational diploma in mine mobile equipment mechanics; · Five years of experience as a mine mobile equipment mechanic; · Heavy equipment technician licence and membership in the Ontario College of Trades; · Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics; · Ability to coordinate work, solve problems and work independently; · Knowledge of the mining industry and proficiency in spoken and written English; · Common Core U0000, U0001, U0002 and U0012 (an asset).
