We are hiring a Dual Ticketed Machinist, Apprentice Welder for our Edmonton Field team on a Monday - Friday shift. What’s in it for you? • Industry Leading Wage: $54.04 - $60.04 (probation to full rate) • Vacation and flex/sick time in year one! • Premium camp or location allowance provided • 75% Employer paid medical benefits • 6% Voluntary Employee Share Purchase, earns 2% Finning match • 6% Employer paid pension, plus additional match • CAT certified training: Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning Job Description: Job Responsibilities: As the Dual Ticked Machinist/Welder, you will be performing portable line boring, welding and grinding duties for rebuilds and repairs on Caterpillar Equipment in both the shop. • Maintain Caterpillar Mining Equipment in a shop environment • Set up, operate line boring equipment and measuring tools to complete the weld build up, fitting and related tasks • Component rebuild and repair, weld, grind, re-machine bores, some manufacturing • Perform routine maintenance work • Occasional work at heights and confined spaces • Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) Qualifications • Apprentice Welder • Journeyperson Machinist Certification • Previous field Experience • Proven line boring experience • Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW, machining experience is beneficial Important Details • This position is based out of Edmonton - Field, on a Monday - Friday (5x2) shift • A condition of employment may include the ability to wear a respirator Union Membership: This is a unionized position.
