We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Victoria, BC location. This person will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of Caterpillar equipment. Job Description: Major Job Functions • Troubleshooting equipment and perform equipment repairs • Interact with customers, products and sales support • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required Qualifications • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail • Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset • Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset • Previous Caterpillar mining equipment repair experience would be considered an asset Note: • Shift work may be required • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement • Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
