As the Journeyperson Electrician, your responsibilities include the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy electrical and power generation equipment including: gen-sets, electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs and switchgears. Compensation Perks: • $52.00 / hr • Tool Allowance • Paid vacation and sick time • Employee Share Purchase Plan options • RRSP Options • Pension Wellness Perks: • Industry leading Benefits and Pension Plans • Boot allowance • Tool allowance • Provided PPE • CAT dealer training • Ongoing training and development Job Description: Responsibilities: • Service, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and power generation equipment • Service and troubleshoot electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs, and electrical switchgear • Build, construct and test electrical panels • Load test power generation equipment • Assist in fulfilling our customer service commitment Qualifications: • Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal preferred) • FSRA or FSRB credential would be considered an asset • Power Generation experience would be considered an asset • Generator Rebuild experience would be considered an asset • Heavy Duty Mechanical experience or certification would be considered an asset • Team player capable of working with minimal supervision, in challenging conditions • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract Notes: • Homebase for this position will be Surrey Power Systems, but you may be required to travel to locations throughout British Columbia and Yukon • This will be a 5x2 shift • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
