Finning is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead our 797 Remanufacturing team. In this role, you will spend the majority of your time on the shop floor, providing hands-on leadership and support to technicians while ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of remanufacturing work. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Operations Supervisor is accountable for delivering exceptional customer service through effective safety leadership, people development, repair process management, productivity oversight, and quality assurance. This position plays a critical role in ensuring work is completed safely, right the first time, and in alignment with customer expectations and business objectives. Job Description: What You’ll Do: • Champion continuous improvement by coaching and empowering employees to challenge existing practices, identify better ways of working, solve problems at the source, and lead sustainable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and the employee experience. • Lead a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with all safety standards, policies, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), hazard assessments, and National Safety Code (NSC) requirements while actively participating in daily shop floor operations. • Spend a minimum of 80% of your time on the shop floor, providing hands-on leadership to support safety, quality, productivity, and Finning's Customer Service Commitment. • Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians and apprentices through recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and ongoing development opportunities. • Oversee the end-to-end repair and remanufacturing process, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and right the first time while meeting customer expectations and operational targets. • Manage workforce planning, technician assignments, productivity, and job progress to ensure optimal resource utilization and timely completion of work. • Coordinate tooling, parts, technical support, warranty requirements, and critical job milestones to minimize downtime and support quality service delivery. • Drive operational performance through accountability for safety, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, quality, productivity, and financial performance metrics. What You’ll Bring: • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with a minimum of 4 years' experience working on Caterpillar equipment and engines. • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with a passion for developing people and building high-performing teams. • Strong understanding of heavy equipment repair, remanufacturing processes, contamination control, and diagnostic troubleshooting. • Working knowledge of Caterpillar warranty programs, product support processes, customer service commitments, and goodwill procedures. • Solid understanding of National Safety Code (NSC) requirements, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), hazard assessments, and safe work practices. • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to interpret operational KPIs and drive productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Proven ability to build relationships, foster accountability, and lead teams in a unionized environment while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
