We are hiring a Mechanic - Un-ticketed or Apprentice (3rd/4th year) to join our CAT Rental Store division in Terrace, BC. You will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of our rental equipment line in both the shop and field. What’s In It For You? Industry Leading Compensation & Wellness Perks: • starting at $ 39.87/ hr (dependent on certification/level) • $3.55 / hr Field Premium (when applicable) • Share Purchase options (with matching) and Employer paid Pension • 100% Employer paid medical and dental benefits • CAT certified training: Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning Job Description: Major Job Functions • Troubleshoot, maintenance and repair tasks on product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment in a both shop and field environments • Interfaces with customers • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team • Other duties as assigned Specific Skills & Experience • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract • Good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems • Thorough knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine electronic management systems • Safety conscious team player • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail • Must possess the technical knowledge to perform service tasks on our product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) aerial work platform equipment as well as knowledge of diesel generators 8 KW to 200 KW Notes: • This role is based out of our Terrace branch on a 5x2 schedule • Field work and overtime dependent on needs • 3rd or 4th Year Apprentices with applicable experience may be considered • A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (drug and alcohol testing) and be fit tested/ability to wear a respirator Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
