Job Description: • Champion a culture of safety through daily reviews and compliance with NSC standards. • Lead and mentor technicians and apprentices, providing coaching and performance feedback. • Oversee job planning and execution, ensuring repairs align with scope and quality standards. • Act as a communication link between shop floor and customer-facing teams. • Support warranty and repair processes, including documentation and claim management. • Drive continuous improvement by identifying safety and process opportunities. • Ensure compliance with SOPs, timecard accuracy, and contamination control protocols. • Contribute to operational KPIs including safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity. Day-to-Day Activities: • Oversee shop floor and field operations to ensure safety and quality standards are met. • Engage with technicians to resolve technical and tooling issues promptly. • Monitor KPIs related to productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction. • Conduct performance conversations and provide feedback to team members. • Ensure accurate completion of timecards and service reports. • Participate in safety meetings and lead toolbox talks. Requirements: • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification. • Minimum 4 years of experience with Caterpillar equipment and engines. • Strong leadership and supervisory skills. • Knowledge of NSC regulations, warranty processes, and contamination control. • Understanding of JHA principles and safety compliance. • Familiarity with collective agreements and performance management processes. • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Strong business acumen and ability to interpret KPIs related to branch profitability.
