The Quality MWD/LWD Engineering Technician at National Oilwell Varco’s Cedar Park facility will ensure that every component of a sales order meets NOV’s rigorous quality standards before it ships. This role combines hands‑on testing, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration to maintain product integrity and support timely delivery. • Inspect incoming and outgoing parts and assemblies. • Generate and compile test documentation. • Coordinate shipment scheduling with planners, buyers, and the warehouse. • Verify DDT tools and assemblies are correctly configured. • Test MWD/LWD tools using provided equipment. • Host engineering change order meetings and lead material review board. • Create and manage Nonconformance Reports (NCRs). • Read and redline engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. • Use mechanical inspection tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers) to evaluate components. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve design and quality issues. • Associate’s degree (or higher) in engineering, technology, or related field • Minimum 2 years' experience in quality, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments. • Ability to read and redline engineering drawings and specifications. • Proficiency with Teamcenter, JD Edwards, and MS Office. • Experience using mechanical inspection tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers). • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and perform under pressure. • ASQ Certified Quality Technician/Auditor/Inspector (preferred). • Knowledge of MWD/LWD tool operation and hardware/software troubleshooting (preferred). • Ability to lift up to 40 lb and stand/sit for extended periods.
