This position plays a key role in the digital development team within Nutrien’s IT Digital Delivery Center (DDC). The DDC oversees and executes design, development, and delivery of digital and custom solutions for Nutrien. The DDC focuses on driving value from Nutrien’s strategic digital technology investments by delivering exceptional experiences and placing humans and customer obsession at center of what we do, what we develop and how we deliver and sustain our digital assets. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Application Development. What You'll Do: • Serve as the Platform Technical Lead for assigned custom application platforms, providing technical direction, delivery oversight, and day-to-day leadership for sustainment and enhancement work • Lead sustainment activities across production applications, including incident response, root-cause analysis, defect resolution, performance optimization, cybersecurity remediation, and platform upgrade readiness • Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to assess priorities, shape technical solutions, and deliver new projects, features, and minor enhancements • Own technical quality across the platform by reviewing designs, approving pull requests, enforcing engineering standards, and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and supportable • Coordinate onshore and offshore engineering work, ensuring clear expectations, effective knowledge transfer, and smooth execution across time zones and vendor partners • Champion continuous improvement and AI-enabled delivery practices, including leveraging AI-DLC tools and workflows to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed while maintaining human oversight What You'll Bring: • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience • 7+ years of professional software development experience, including ownership or technical leadership of production applications in a sustainment or platform delivery environment • Demonstrated ability to operate as a technical lead by guiding engineers, reviewing solution designs, making sound technical decisions, and balancing sustainment priorities with new project and feature delivery • A growth mindset and willingness to embrace AI-enabled software development practices, including leveraging AI-DLC tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery speed • Strong hands-on experience building and supporting full-stack applications, including backend services using .NET / .NET Core, modern front-end development using React.js, API design, data persistence, and integration patterns • Experience supporting cloud-based solutions on AWS, with an understanding of cloud-native design, operational reliability, performance, scalability, and security best practices • Strong production support mindset, including experience with incident resolution, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, defect management, technical debt reduction, and continuous improvement • Proficient with Git-based version control, pull request reviews, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum delivery, and tools such as Jira • Ability to collaborate effectively with business partners, product owners, architects, vendors, and distributed engineering teams to translate business needs into secure, maintainable technical solutions What You'll Get: • Purpose-Driven Work – Make an impact as part of a global team feeding the future and support farmers locally and around the world • Excellent Benefits – Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, plus a retirement program with generous employer matching for your future • Grow Your Career – Tuition assistance for future education and ongoing learning and training opportunities for career advancement pathways across the organization • Support When it Matters – Employee Assistance Programs, inclusive leaves, and paid time for holidays, volunteering, vacation, and wellness • Thrive in a Strong Culture – Guided by our core values we put safety first, act with integrity, are stronger together, and deliver with excellence in a collaborative, high-performing environment Ready to make an impact with us?
