Your Opportunity Our Red Deer office has a seasonal opportunity for a Survey Assistant within our Geospatial Group. The Earth is top of mind for our Geospatial team. On, above, and under the Earth’s surface, we provide our clients a full range of surveying and mapping services. Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. Please note that this is a defined term role expected to run through the end of November 2026, aligned with the current construction season. Your Key Responsibilities • Perform surveying tasks using GNSS survey instruments, digital levels, 3D laser scanners, and conventional survey equipment. • Assist surveying team members with tasks related to surveying and construction layout. • Assisting in the preparation of field notes/sketches and completing field data downloads and uploads. • Maintaining field equipment and vehicles. • Communicate effectively with members of the team and follow standard procedures. • Responsible for maintaining field equipment and vehicles. • Responsible for safe operation of tools and equipment. • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Your Capabilities and Credentials • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. • You possess technical and mathematical skills along with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions. • Technical and mathematical skills along with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting survey equipment with a weight of up to 50 lbs.) in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions. • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends. Education and Experience • Experience in construction, or post-secondary education in a Geomatics or Civil program would be considered an asset but not required. • Basic knowledge and familiarity with Trimble survey equipment would be considered an asset but not required.
