As a Lab Technician, you will help deliver accurate, high‑quality laboratory work that supports environmental, materials, and infrastructure projects across the region. You will be part of a team that values precision, safety, and innovation while helping shape healthier, more resilient communities. Your Impact In this role, you will: • Perform routine laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, and concrete in accordance with standard methods and specifications. • Prepare, label, log, and manage samples to maintain accurate tracking and traceability. • Operate standard materials laboratory equipment, including balances, ovens, and microscopes • Accurately record observations and test results in laboratory logs, templates, and digital systems. • Follow health, safety, and quality procedures to maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment. • Support senior technicians, technologists, and professional staff by assisting with test setup, equipment cleaning, and general lab organization. The Skills That Set You Apart • Post-secondary technical diploma/degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Earth Sciences, or a related field. • Exposure to construction materials testing through academic labs, co‑op terms, internships, or entry‑level roles. • Familiarity with basic laboratory practices and materials testing equipment used for soils, aggregates, and concrete. • Ability to work in a laboratory environment with repetitive testing procedures and attention to detail. • Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs as part of routine laboratory duties. • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, with an interest in building technical skills in construction materials testing..
