The Opportunity Design What Comes Next Join our growing Water and Wastewater team as a Water & Wastewater Mechanical Process Engineer and contribute to the delivery of infrastructure that supports healthier, more resilient communities across Canada. Working alongside experienced technical specialists, you'll help develop innovative treatment solutions, support critical municipal projects, and strengthen essential water infrastructure from planning through commissioning. This is an opportunity to expand your expertise in mechanical process design for water and wastewater treatment facilities while making a meaningful impact on communities and the environment. Your Impact • Champion health, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout project delivery. • Support the planning, design, and implementation of municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure. • Develop process designs and engineering deliverables, including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, technical calculations, equipment layouts, and specifications. • Conduct process evaluations, feasibility assessments, and technology reviews to support infrastructure improvement projects. • Assist with the selection and integration of mechanical process equipment, pumping systems, and treatment infrastructure to meet project and client requirements. • Contribute to construction support, commissioning activities, and start-up services for water and wastewater treatment facilities. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver practical and sustainable water solutions. • Continuously build technical expertise through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and participation in complex water infrastructure projects. The Skills That Set You Apart • 5+ years of experience supporting municipal water and wastewater treatment projects through planning, design, and implementation. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with the applicable provincial engineering association. • Experience with mechanical process systems associated with municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, including pumping systems, process equipment, hydraulic systems, and related infrastructure. • Experience preparing technical reports, design calculations, specifications, and engineering drawings. • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to project deliverables in a consulting environment. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel periodically to client sites and project locations.
