We are WSP. The Opportunity – Build the Future with Us Join our Field Services - Major Projects team within Ground Engineering as a Senior Geotechnical Technician based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In this role, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure, mining, industrial, and energy projects across Western Canada. Working alongside engineers, contractors, and clients, you'll lead field investigations, support geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring programs, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with technical excellence. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced field professional with a strong geotechnical background who enjoys working in dynamic environments, mentoring junior team members, and taking ownership of complex field programs. Your Impact • Lead geotechnical drilling investigations, field testing programs, and soil and groundwater characterization activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence. • Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot geotechnical instrumentation systems and automated monitoring networks to support critical infrastructure and major project developments. • Coordinate and oversee drilling contractors, subcontractors, and field crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. • Perform construction monitoring and inspections related to earthworks, foundations, piles, slopes, and ground improvement works, providing timely observations and recommendations to project teams. • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve field challenges, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to successful project delivery while representing WSP with professionalism and integrity. The Skills That Set You Apart • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Geological Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. • Minimum 7 years of relevant geotechnical field experience, including drilling investigations, instrumentation installation, and construction monitoring. • Demonstrated experience with geotechnical instrumentation systems, remote monitoring technologies, telemetry networks, and data acquisition systems. • Experience coordinating contractors and working on large-scale infrastructure, mining, industrial, oil sands, or major capital projects. • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and flexibility to work rotational schedules, remote project assignments, and extended day or night shifts as required. • Current or ability to obtain Standard First Aid Level C with AED, CSTS, CSO, H2S Alive, and successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing requirements.
