Position Summary The Light Equipment Foreman will oversee and manage civil equipment crews. Qualification Highlights • Must have 4+ years’ experience as a dirt operator, and 2+ years in a supervisory position. • Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions (see below). • Must be able to meet all physical requirements. • Must have reliable transportation. Position Responsibilities • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks. • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks. • Manage multiple crews regarding scheduling, processes and sequences, time, and cost. Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all civil processes. Required Qualifications • Leadership Abilities • Ability to manage multiple crews. • Ability to plan out the workload for multiple crews and multiple processes. • Ability to perform all job duties of craft trade. • Ability to read and understand IFC drawings. • Understand when to stop production work and when an RFI needs to be initiated. • Read and understand craft specs and cut sheets, craft spec procedures, and recommendations • Plan work and execute • Ability to take drawings, required material, line out helpers and execute work • Equipment Knowledge - Basic maintenance (inspections) and Safe operations practices • Ability to find footage, utilize addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions to perform all craft duties. Physical Requirements • Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting. • Will talk and hear to communicate. • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools. • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements. • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE. • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots. Reports to Position This position will be responsible for a crew of up to 5-15 craft workers. The crew will be a mix of journeyman, helpers, and laborers.
