Collects and inputs survey and engineering data into a CAD/CAM/CAE software database, and providing specific deliverables to construction and field survey teams in the form of GPS Machine Control Models, Surfaces, Linework and visual Documentation. Responsibilities • Assesses engineering requirements and translates into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software ensures drawings meet product design goals. • Coaches and mentors’ other team members. • Expert understanding and usage of CAD/CAM/CAE design and drafting software platforms. • Oversees modeling and design duties that require site authorization or have legal precedence. • Reviews and provides feedback on work product(s) for subordinate CAD Technicians. • Lead technician in matters of design changes/updates. • Good collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Qualifications • Has specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. • Completes assignments and facilitates the work activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area. • May act as team lead, providing subject matter guidance to team members but is not a supervisor. • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices; proposing improvement to processes and methods as needed. • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelor’s degree in drafting or survey preferred. • Minimum 6+ years of Computer Aided Design (CAD) support and/or experience required. Preferred: Current or Former Zachry PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will be based from an on-site office on construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain - light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
